Police kept busy over weekend
Police responded to reports of three robberies, two minor assaults, one sexual assault, and 21 break-ins.
The list of stolen property from residences, boats, and businesses around the Island included; a beige "New Mar'' telephone-type intercom, a 20-inch Sony colour television, a General Instrument 27/50R satellite receiver, a Gucci wrist chain, a gold signet ring with the letter "G'' on it, a 12-foot Quick Silver inflatable dinghy, a Johnson two horse power small outboard engine, a gold-plated Citizen ladies watch, and various amounts of cash up to $1,000.
Police also dealt with 27 cases of vehicle removals -- including two cars, one of which was recovered -- three impaired drivers, and 20 road traffic accidents.
WOMAN R EPORTS SEXUAL ASSAULT CRM Woman reports sexual assault A 21-year-old Devonshire woman has reported that she was sexually assaulted in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The alleged incident is said to have occurred in Paget. And Police arrested a 25-year-old Paget man shortly after receiving the report.
Inquiries are continuing.
TEENAGE GIRL MISSING AGAIN POL Teenage girl missing again Police and relatives of Jahdiya Trott yesterday renewed their appeal yesterday for anyone with information on the teenager's whereabouts to come forward.
The 15-year-old, who was missing last week, was returned to her Pembroke home on Saturday by Police.
But by Saturday night she was missing again.
Jahdiya frequents Elliott and Court Streets and may be in "moral danger''.
Police also reminded the public that harbouring a missing juvenile is an offence.
Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Jahdiya is asked to contact Police immediately.
TEENAGER DENIES MAKING ATTACKS CTS Teenager denies making attacks A 19-year-old man pleaded not guilty in Magistrates' Court yesterday to two charges of assault causing bodily harm and one charge of stealing.
Neiko Burchall is accused of assaulting Christopher Smith and Anthony Smith last July 15 and of stealing a wallet containing $60 from Richard Tavares in Pembroke last week.
He is to be tried on March 16 for the assault charge and on May 3 for the theft charge.
Burchall's bail was set at $800.
SLOVENIAN FINED CTS Slovenian fined A 23-year-old Slovenian national was fined $450 in Magistrates' Court yesterday for driving a motorcycle while impaired.
Mirko Skrinjar was stopped by Police on January 1 after officers noticed his cycle swerving as he travelled east on Front Street.
Skrinjar, a waiter at a local guest house, was later found to have had 200 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
"I know it was New Year's Eve but people die on New Year's Eve too,'' said the Wor. Cheryl-Ann Mapp. "Congratulations on staying alive.'' The magistrate also banned Skrinjar from driving for 12 months.
OFFICER RECOVERING AC Officer recovering The Police officer who was involved in a single-vehicle road accident last week has regained consciousness and was resting on a general ward yesterday.
The 23-year-old officer, who regained consciousness on Saturday, suffered serious head injuries after he lost control of his cycle and collided with a wall near St. Paul's Church in Paget.
TOYOTA CAR STOLEN CRM Toyota car stolen Police are looking for a private car removed from outside of the owner's residence over the weekend.
The white Toyota, with registration number 21610, was taken sometime between 8 p.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
