Four thefts were reported on Monday evening with a fifth committed on Monday night.
The occupant of a home on White Crest Hill, Hamilton Parish, discovered that she had been burgled when she returned from work on Monday afternoon.
An engagement ring, gold wedding band, two gold chains, a brooch and an earring were all taken in the raid.
Officers are also investigating two burglaries in St. Anne's Drive, Southampton area, which they think may be connected.
In the first incident, which occurred some time between 7.30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
on Monday, a Gucci watch, gold neck chain and two identical wrist chains were stolen from a house.
A Port Royal apartment was also broken into during the day with thieves getting away with a quantity of coins.
A 60-year-old man has been arrested following the report of 22 paw paws from a garden on Garthowen Estate, Devonshire, just before midnight on Monday.
The owner was able to chase off the intruder after being alerted to the theft by a neighbour. In the chase the theft dropped his cache of stolen fruit and headed onto Middle Road, where he was later picked up by a mobile Police patrol. The suspect is currently being detained at Hamilton Police Station.
And a burglar broke into a home on Lookout Lane, Devonshire, in the early hours of yesterday morning. The woman occupant went to bed at about midnight and awoke a few hours later when she discovered that a wallet containing cash and credit cards had been stolen.
