Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said Somerset Police were investigating two break-ins in the Gibbs Hill and St. Anne's Road area of Southampton during the early hours of Sunday morning.

In one of the break-ins a thief entered a house while the residents were asleep and stole four wallets from various rooms. The thief removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the wallets and left them behind in the house.

A nearby resident also reported that someone entered her home around the same time and took money from her purse.

And a Pembroke resident reported that someone entered her home sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning and stole her VCR and television set.
