Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said a 28-year-old Smith's Parish man was arrested by narcotics officers who were on routine patrol in the Devil's Hole area.
The suspect was chased onto the roof of Harrington Sound Workmen's Club where he allegedly pulled a knife and threatened the officers, Mrs. James-Barnett said.
After unsuccessful attempts to get the man to surrender, the suspect fled again with officers in pursuit.
Following a second unsuccessful surrender attempt, officers rushed the man and during a brief struggle, one of the officers sustained minor cuts to his midsection.
Officers found several items in his possession and the man was arrested and later bailed while investigations continue.
