The woman and two male officers were trying to effect the arrest of two men on Front Street on suspected drugs violations.

She was "headbutted and sustained quite a large bump on her head,'' a Police spokesman reported. "She was taken to hospital and later discharged.'' Also on Saturday night, Police were forced to chase down a teen motorcyclist.

Police said the chase through Hamilton resulted in the arrest of the youth, who was a disqualified driver. He was later bailed, pending a court appearance.
