Memorial Hospital after an accident on Harrington Sound Road last week.

Police said the 19-year-old woman, of North Hill, Devonshire, was riding east on her cycle around 11.15 a.m. on Thursday when she was startled by an overtaking car at Harrington Sound Road, just east of Paynter's Road in Hamilton Parish.

She lost control of the cycle and fell to the ground, sustaining a broken right leg and a dislocated right shoulder.

Another cycle, ridden by a 35-year-old Cove Valley, St. David's man, came upon the accident. Swerving to avoid the collision, the man also lost control of his cycle and fell to the ground, suffering a broken toe.

Police also attended an accident near the St. George's Club just before 11 a.m. on Thursday.

A 68-year-old visitor, riding a Honda City Express, lost control of the moped as he headed east along Rosehill Road when he mistakenly accelerated when he intended to stop. The man hit an embankment wall and fell off the cycle, breaking his ankle.
