Princess arrives on Island
today by visiting two Island charities.
Today the Princess and her husband, Sir Angus Ogilvy, who arrived on the Island last night, will visit the Fair Havens Christian Care Association.
And tomorrow she will officially open the Bermuda Red Cross headquarters on Berry Hill Road, Paget.
Princess Alexandra, is due to tour Fair Havens this afternoon meeting staff and residents at the Victoria Street centre for about 45 minutes.
She will be accompanied during the visit by Governor Lord Waddington and his wife Lady Waddington and Sir Angus.
The Princess is the vice-president of the British Red Cross. Red Cross administrator Ann Spencer-Arscott said: "We are delighted that the Princess is coming.'' The headquarters opened at a cost of $1.5 million in 1995 and a fundraising campaign to cover the cost has now reached $1.3 million.
The Princess is also due to attend a cocktail party at Government House for those involved in the fundraising campaign.
