Public submissions invited for inquiry

The Commission of Inquiry will kick off on August 11 at 10 a.m. at Cathedral Hall on Church Street.

A Government spokesman said: "It is important that submissions, including statements, information or requests to meet with the Commission, publicly or privately, be received no later that August 11 so that the Commission can schedule its meetings.'' The Commission of Inquiry was announced by Labour, Home Affairs and Public Safety Minister Quinton Edness in the House of Assembly last month. It will be headed by Dominican-born former Bermuda Court of Appeal judge Telford Georges with ex-Cabinet Secretary Kenneth Richardson and Her Majesty's Inspector of Dependent Territories Police Forces Lionel Grundy as members.

Dr. James Burnett-Herkes will be the Commission's executive officer. Written submissions should be sent to: The Commission of Inquiry, c/o Deputy Governor's Office, Government House, 11 Langton Hill, Pembroke HM 13.
