continue in the selection process to join the Police Service after a recent brush with the law.
And contrary to Saturday's report in The Royal Gazette , Tomeeka Talbot was not beginning her first day of training but only attending a preliminary interview.
"We have some concerns with Saturday's story,'' a Police spokesman said.
"Commissioner Jean-Jacques Lemay is upset that he has been quoted as approving her joining the Service.'' He explained: "In light of the incident, her application to join the Police Service is no longer being considered.'' The spokesman said that Talbot's recruitment has halted "for reasons that will remain private'' between the Service and Talbot.
Talbot, 24, of Harrington Sound Road, was arrested last Wednesday on six warrants for $1,510 in unpaid fines after a series of traffic violations two years ago.
