Repeat sex offender jailed for three years
to three years in prison.
Gary Wendell Jones, of Ewing Street, Pembroke, had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault.
He was charged with assaulting a woman and her eight-year-old daughter at Albouy's Point on January 2.
When he appeared in court on July 4, Puisne Judge Norma Wade requested a psychological evaluation before sentencing.
Yesterday, Jones' lawyer Richard Hector said Jones had "a history of mild sexual assault'' that was annoying rather than violent.
Mr. Hector added that Jones had been sentenced to a long prison term before, and suggested that another long term was not a solution to the problem.
When Mrs. Justice Wade asked Jones if he had anything to say, he said he suffered from "temporary insanity'' when he assaulted the woman and her child.
"I was under the impression that I was a king...I was hearing things on the radio and my mind just snapped,'' he said.
After Mrs. Justice Wade sentenced him to a three-year prison term, Jones was taken from the courtroom repeating: "That's not the place to treat me. It's not the answer. It's making me worse and worse.''
