photojournalist Mr. David Skinner chronicles his seven-day stay in the war-torn country.

In April Mr. Skinner, who works for The Royal Gazette , travelled to Bosnia to document the delivery of four containers of aid sent to the relief camp in Medjugorje from Bermuda.

He recounts his travels into Zagreb and Split, the bus ride to Medjugorje, and his time on the front line in Mostar. Along the way he talked to refugees, relief workers and soldiers.

In "Broken Lives: The Tragedy of Bosnia,'' Mr. Skinner tells his story to RG managing editor Mr. Chris Gibbons. He says the experience had a profound effect on him.

"I am grateful that I was able to go home and leave all this behind, but it hurts to think that innocent people throughout Bosnia will continue to live with death on a daily basis for a long time to come,'' he says.

The Medjugorje Peace Plan, in a letter to Mrs. Lucy Willits, who helped organise the collection and shipment of Bermuda aid, confirmed the relief aid arrived in the port of Rijeka and was distributed to Tuzla, Sarajevo and Zenica.

"We are very thankful for your help,'' Father Leonard Orec wrote in the letter to Mrs. Willits. "Please, give our thanks to all those who assist you in your work. May God bless you and grant you His peace.'' June's RG also includes a special section on this year's World Cup, which kicks off in the United States on June 17. The section includes a full World Cup match and TV guide to all 52 games, insight into the African nations' chances, how the Irish have succeeded while the British have failed, and a look at whether or not Americans know or care about the World Cup.

In other features, senior writer Mrs. Robin Zuill profiles the Hon. Jerome Dill, Minister of Human Affairs and Information, and PLP MP Dr. Ewart Brown, while Ms Patricia Calnan profiles world-class Bermudian soprano Marcelle Clamens, who gives her first Bermuda recital in two years at City Hall on June 18. Ms Calnan also profiles Mr. James Burn, the British composer behind the musical Joan of Arc, currently playing at City Hall.

Elsewhere in the magazine, Ms Louise Foister charts the growth of the Bermuda College as it prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary next month.

It's all in RG Magazine and it's free in tomorrow's The Royal Gazette .
