Rosemont plans expansion
industry.
The Development Applications Board recently granted the Rosemont Guest Apartments permission to add on to the Pembroke property.
Manager Karen Cooper Olson said booming business and the anticipation of new office developments prompted the 18-room addition.
"We are really busy,'' she said. "I think it has to do with our location.
Location helps.
"And it is partly due to the ACE/Exel and Waterfront developments that are being built.'' On November 1, contractors will tear down one of the facility's buildings containing seven studios, Mrs. Cooper Olson said.
"We will put up a building that will contain eight studios,'' she said. "The second building we are adding will have ten one-bedroom units with kitchen.'' The Rosemont Avenue facility will increase parking by constructing staff parking under one of the new buildings.
The development will allow the guest house to offer travellers a total of 47 rooms.
Cyril Cooper and wife Barbara Cooper own the three-acre property but their daughters, Karen and Lorri, run the apartments.
