Runaway prisoner recaptured

A Police spokesman announced yesterday that a team of nine detectives led by Det. Ch. Insp. Carlton Adams recaptured Pitt at 6 a.m.
after disappearing from Magistrates Court.

The fugitive was found in a building on the Admiralty House grounds and was taken into custody without a struggle.
Pitt, 48, slipped unnoticed from the back of Magistrates' Court on the morning of May 6 as he waited to have his case heard before Senior Magistrate Will Francis.
The Horseshoe Road, Southampton man had been escorted to court by Police after being held in Hamilton Police Station after his arrest on Monday.
