Jamel Tito Smith, 19, appeared before Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis yesterday.

Sean Charles Smith, 24, is also accused of murdering Wilson, whose body was found in the waters off the North Shore in February of last year. He denied the charge at his Supreme Court arraignment this month.

A third man, 23-year-old Damion Wayne Smith was also accused of the murder, was set free after a preliminary hearing found there wasn't enough evidence for him to stand trial.

Yesterday, Jamel Smith was not required to enter a plea to his murder charge, which is slated to be tried in the Supreme Court.

His case will next come up for mention on March 29.

Jamel Smith's lawyer, Ms Gwyneth Tait-Carey, was unable to secure his release on bail, having failed to prove the "exceptional circumstances'' that are required for the bailing of any murder suspect.
