magazine has led to the rating of the US operations of Sedgwick Group as the top insurance broker.

Sedgwick, a worldwide insurance brokerage, risk services and employee benefits consulting firm, has local offices in Hamilton.

Sedgwick topped the list after risk managers were asked to rate insurance brokers in six categories of performance. The firm swept the top scores in five out of six categories.

The broker ranked number one on cost of service, how reasonably a broker priced its services; programme design, a broker's ability to design a comprehensive insurance programme; consulting, the usefulness of a broker's consulting services; capacity, a vendor's ability to line up needed insurance capacity; and global services, the effectiveness of a broker's local market network for international insurance programmes.

It also ranked among the top three brokers in the remaining category of self-insurance support services, the utility of a broker's self-insurance support services. Sedgwick's composite rating was best overall.
