Kevin Eugene Daniels, 38, was yesterday sentenced to 12 months jail after pleading guilty to three separate counts of stalking between December 27 last year and February 23.

Earlier this year a court heard how Daniels had made regular telephone calls to Mary Maybury, Oneika Salam and Dawn Ottley at the Hamilton store where they worked, breathing heavily down the phone and claiming that he wanted to have sex with them.

He also left his victims electronic messages and regularly walked passed the store and peered through the window.

Daniels, who had been remanded in custody prior to yesterday's sentencing, also pleaded guilty to a fourth charge of intruding on the privacy of Ms Salam, causing her to become alarmed.

Daniels' two month reign of terror finally ended when he called Ms Salam and said that he would meet her after work to have sex.

Police were contacted and arrested Daniels later that day. He was taken to Hamilton Police Station where he later admitted the offences.

Giving Daniels four concurrent 12 month prison sentences, Senior Magistrate Will Francis said: "I have read the psychiatric report on you and there is only one sentence I can give having regard to the facts and the antecedents.'' Wearing orange prison fatigues Daniels sat smiling throughout the ten minute hearing. As he was led from the courtroom by prison officers he told Mr.

Francis to "have a nice day.''
