May 9 -- almost five months after he admitted stealing more than $42,000.

The former Bank of Bermuda assistant manager stole the money from a general ledger account at the bank over three months in 1990.

The court heard that he had played a "good Samaritan'' with a portion of the stolen money by giving a co-worker $25,000 after she was turned down for a bank loan.

Shabazz was subsequently released on bail so a social inquiry report could be prepared for Puisne Judge the Hon. Mr. Justice Meerabux.

The report was not completed at his last appearance in February forcing Mr.

Meerabux to adjourn the matter to yesterday when sentencing was set for May 9.
