with the double tax situation residents and businessmen face.

He has also unveiled 11 other ideas on his platform.

His ideas to boost the town's wealth involve holding discussions with Government about the possibility of the town receiving the Airport's wharfage revenue and turning Marginal Wharf over to the town for redevelopment as an international yachting centre and ocean freight facility.

Mr. Smith also wants to see if Government, international and local businesses would be interested in meeting some of their demands for office space in the town and if Club Med could become a combined international business, executive suite hotel and international arbitration centre.

In a bid to gather advice on the management and development of the town, Mr.

Smith said he intends to invite international and local businessmen, developers, business analysts and historic town managers to join a think-tank group.

And he wants to create a development and usage plan with Government that compliments the town's architecture and heritage.

Other plans in Mr. Smith's platform include creating a safe environment for residents and visitors; an integrated transport management and parking plan; an environmentally sensitive waste management plan; a parks and recreational development and usage plan; and a streets maintenance plan.

Mr. Smith said he also wished to create a marketing plan in conjunction with the Department of Tourism that would promote the town and an on-Island multimedia advertisement plan that informed visitors of town events.
