Soccer player admits indecent acts
for two years after he pleaded guilty to masturbating on public beaches.
Dano O. Outerbridge, 21, of King Street, St. George's, pleaded guilty in September to two counts of indecent acts and a third count of indecent behaviour.
Prosecutor Sgt. Donald Grant said Outerbridge had been seen in the act by female visitors and children on Marley Beach, Warwick and on Warwick Long Bay in April, May and June.
When Police asked him what he was doing Outerbridge -- who was a member of the 1994 national soccer squad -- said he was training.
Ms Kim Wilson, representing Outerbridge, said on Monday that her client's behaviour was "totally uncharacteristic'', and related to distress over the death of a close family member.
She noted the young man had never been in trouble before and he spent ten days in custody when initially denied bail. He was extremely remorseful.
As a term of his probation, Magistrate the Wor. Ed King told Outerbridge he must take any psychological counselling Probation Services may deem necessary.
"The ball is in your court,'' Mr. King told him. "How far you kick it is your responsibility.
"If you commit any offences while on probation, you will be brought back here and dealt with differently.''
