The young man was sent reeling as a glass of hot water shattered.

Staff gave him emergency first aid after he was cut by flying glass.

He was then taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, although his condition was not serious.

The incident occurred at about 4 p.m., said Mrs. Margaret Potts, the station's assistant to director Dr. Tony Knap.

"The emergency service was excellent and was on the spot in a very short time,'' she added.
