Prosecuting St. Rex Osborne told the court that at 6.20 p.m. on Thursday October 6, Talbot and some other youths were being nuisances by the new Telco building in St. George's.

He added: "The officer advised them to leave the area and Talbot climbed down from the wall and walked away from him.

"When one officer asked to speak to Talbot he walked back towards him swearing and acting as if he wanted to square off,'' Sgt. Osborne said.

When asked by acting senior Magistrate the Wor. Mr. Edward King if he had anything to say Talbot replied: "We guys were getting cussed out by the officers, they were not doing their job and when I was taken to the Police station they started kicking and slapping me.'' Mr. King fined Talbot $250 for assaulting an officer and $150 for using offensive words.

PRISON FOR TRESPASSING, THEFT CTS Prison for trespassing, theft A 24-year-old man who trespassed onto his mother's property and stole $10 worth of food was sent to prison for two months, in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Jamal N. Manders, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to the charges which led to the Magistrate activating a one month suspended prison sentence.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Rex Osborne told the court that on Thursday, October 5 the mother of the defendant left her home in Hamilton Parish at 9.45 a.m. and when she returned at 2.30 p.m. she found that her residence had been broken into through a forced open window.

"Mrs. Manders then found her son in the kitchen in the process of eating food totaling $10,'' Sgt. Osborne added.

He also told the court that the complainant had sent Manders a written notice prohibiting him from trespassing.

Sgt. Osborne added that Manders was issued the notice after being charged with causing grievous bodily harm to his mother.

MAN DROVE WHILE IMPAIRED CTS Man drove while impaired Driving while impaired by alcohol cost a 32-year-old Pembroke man $400, in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

David Gilham, of Rosemont Avenue, pleaded guilty to the charge.

Prosecuting Sgt. Rex Osborne told the court that on September 15 at 11.30 p.m.

Police stopped Gilham on Church Street due to the nature of his driving.

"The officers noticed that his breath smelled heavily of liquor and his speech was slurred,'' Sgt. Osborne said.

A breath test showed that Gilham had 112 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. Edward King also disqualified him from all vehicles for 12 months.

STEALING COSTS DEVONSHIRE YOUTH CTS Stealing costs Devonshire youth Stealing $40 worth of food and money cost a 17-year-old Devonshire youth $150 this week.

Keevan J. Trott, of Alexander Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to stealing food stuff and property from a 16-year-old Pizza Dude delivery boy.

Police prosecutor Sgt. John Dale said Trott -- an Adult Education student -- ordered a pizza and soda from Pizza Dudes on August 20.

Sgt. Dale explained that upon delivering the goods, the delivery boy realised he did not have change for the large bill Trott had ordered. So he left the food with Trott and went off to get some change.

But when the delivery boy returned, Trott snatched the money from him and ran off.
