Teens sentenced for attack
schoolmate have been placed on two years' probation.
Garrow Lightbourne, of Spanish Crescent, Smith's Parish and Jermaine Philpott, of Frog Lane, Devonshire were sentenced by Senior Magistrate Will Francis after the attack on March 21.
The defendants, both 17, pleaded guilty to causing bodily harm. They admitted punching Victor Antoine Roach in the face, knocking him to the ground and kicking him repeatedly at Philpott's home.
Mr. Francis also sentenced Philpott to 40 hours' community service for three separate offences -- two break-ins and one attempted break-in.
Lightbourne was sentenced to another two years' probation for a previous stealing charge. The sentences will run concurrently.

The man was driving a livery cycle when he lost control of the vehicle and ploughed into a car.
The driver received shoulder and back injuries in the crash and was arrested by Police on suspicion of impaired driving.
HOTEL ROOMS ROBBED CRM Hotel rooms robbed A sneak thief struck twice at the Harmony Club hotel in Paget on Tuesday evening.
A couple claim their room was raided after they had left to have dinner in the hotel restaurant at about 8.30 p.m. The thief entered and stole cash from their wallets.
Another guest reported a similar incident at the same time.
CLASSES SUSPENDED ED Classes suspended A burst water pipe at Clearwater Middle School forced staff to suspend classes yesterday.
Officials attempted to call parents of some 200 students before closing the school at lunch.
An Education Ministry spokesman said the water pipe should be repaired in time for classes to resume today as usual.
MAN EXPOSED HIMSELF CRM Man exposed himself Police are hunting a pervert who indecently exposed himself to a couple.
The complainants told Police they were sitting on a bench near Barnes Corner at about 3 p.m. on Tuesday when they were approached by the man.
They say he exposed himself and then began to fondle himself before running off.
TEENS ATTACK RIDER CRM Teens attack rider A gang of teenagers attacked and robbed a motorcyclist after he stopped to ask directions.
The 34-year-old robbery victim had stopped at the junction of Parson's Road and St. Augustine Hill in Hamilton at about 3.30 a.m. yesterday. He was approached by the gang, who punched him in the face before making off with a bag containing food. The victim was not seriously injured in the attack.
WORKMAN INJURED AC Workman injured A workman suffered a broken wrist when he fell from the roof of Warwick Academy.
The 48-year-old Pembroke man had one foot on a ledge when it collapsed on Sunday morning.
He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he was treated for a broken wrist and a knee injury.

The Registry is to recruit three new workers to help cope with the workload of one of the world's largest offshore registers.

POST OFFICE GETS HELP GVT Post Office gets help Three American postal experts have flown into Bermuda to improve local mail operations.
Post Master General Clevelyn Crichlow said the US Postal officials were on the Island to review the operations of the Airport Mail Facility and to examine its security procedures.
One of the officials, Robert Irizarry, will install a Track and Trace system at the Airport Mail Facility to allow the Bermuda Post Office to trace its express mail to the final destination.
