Top law firm to expand its marketing
professional to direct its marketing efforts.
Large legal practices in major business centres have hired marketing managers over the last decade. Those who are the most proficient in the needs of law firms are hard to get and highly paid.
AS&K managing partner, Dianna Kempe, said: "If you looked at the US, for example, the most experienced in the law firm environment have been doing it for just ten years. There are also a number of different levels in this growing profession.
"We are looking for someone who may not have had necessarily ten years experience, but who would assist us in marketing the firm generally. It's a matter of having someone in-house to put us in the right direction.
"Our view in this market is to sell Bermuda first as a jurisdiction, but such a person would also help in strategies for the firm. We see such a person creating more business for Bermuda and more business for AS&K.'' Published advertisements call for an individual to coach and provide counsel for attorneys' marketing efforts.
The post also involves developing strategies for client presentations, guiding strategic positioning of the firm, researching and targeting new clients, building a marketing database, and implementing and coordinating other marketing activities and tools such as collateral materials and newsletters.
Applicants must show evidence of excellent organisational skills, management experience, and computer expertise. Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are essential.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of six years marketing experience. Law firm experience would be preferred. A bachelor's degree is required, while graduate education would be an asset.
