Trial for trucker
cycle will face a trial at Magistrates' Court.
Anthony John Rego, 23, of South Road, Smith's Parish, will be tried on a charge of driving without due care and attention.
The matter will be heard after the Attorney General won an appeal against the dismissal of the charge by Magistrate Edward King.
The appeal was heard in the Supreme Court on Tuesday before Chief Justice Austin Ward. Appearing for the Attorney General was Crown counsel Brian Calhoun and representing Mr. Rego was Marc Telemaque.
The accident -- in which a livery cycle rider suffered a broken leg -- happened in August 28 last year and was heard in Magistrates' Court on January 28.
Mr. Rego had pleaded guilty to the offence before it was dismissed.
A date will be set in the near future for the trial.
