The American couple, from Ohio, were attacked in their room at White Sands Hotel in Paget on Wednesday by masked robbers, one of whom wielded a knife.

The middle-aged couple, who left the Island later that same day, were rescued by the hotel's night manager Mark Browne who heard screams and tackled the robbers.

Yesterday, Police said they took a 29-year-old Paget man into custody around 12.30 p.m. and later arrested a 39-year-old man from Paget.

In the White Sands incident both attackers wore ski masks with eye-holes.

The couple, who suffered minor injuries, vowed to return to the Island to help in the prosecution of their attackers.
