Two long-serving Police constables have been promoted to sergeant, it was announced this week.

Sgt. Ian Coyles, 39, joined the force in 1976. He is married with two children.He has served in uniform, CID and the cycle squad, but has spent most of his time in the narcotics department,
Sgt. Ian Coyles, 39, joined the force in 1976. He is married with two children.
He has served in uniform, CID and the cycle squad, but has spent most of his time in the narcotics department, where he will continue working.
Sgt. Clive Browne, 36, joined in 1980. He is married with one son.
Sgt. Browne served in uniform at St. George's before transferring to the traffic department at Prospect in 1982. His duties have included regular traffic car patrol, and he has spent a number of years attached to the motor cycle section. He will stay in the traffic department.
