almost $7 million on the street when they appeared in Magistrates' Court.

Michael Davis, 54, of Cambridge Road, Sandys and Kenneth Zuill, 28, of Oneway Road, Deep Dale will face a trial in the lower court in January after pleading not guilty to the charge which allegedly occurred between an unknown date and May 12.

Davis also pleaded not guilty to possession of 36.46 grams of cannabis resin worth $3,650 and that matter will be heard at the same time as the conspiracy trial.

Crown Counsel Charmaine Smith said 300 pounds of cannabis was worth $6.8 million on the street if it was sold in wraps or $2.1 million if sold by the pound.

Davis' lawyer Elizabeth Christopher said her client should not be given a high bail.

"He is a man of humble living with a young family,'' she said.

And Zuill's lawyer Peter Farge argued there was no risk of his client, who also had a humble background, fleeing the country.

"In fact he showed up in court today of his own accord,'' said Mr. Farge, who noted his client was not bailed to appear in court when he left the Police Station.

Both were released on $3,000 bail with a like surety and were ordered to surrender their travel documents.
