US visitor's hotel room burgled

Police Press officer Evelyn James Barnett said when the man awoke he found an amount of cash and a brass money clip with a white enamel lighthouse were missing from his trouser pocket.

And in other Police news, a 41-year-old Canadian Sandys Parish resident employed as a sales clerk in a Hamilton store was arrested on Saturday afternoon after being accused of removing money from the cash register.

Investigations are continuing into both matters, said Mrs. James Barnett.

NEW STAMP RELEASED UPS New stamp released A new stamp will be released this week -- with a design based on a plate used more than 40 years ago.

The Post Office is releasing the $22 international express mail stamp which features the Elizabethan key plate design.

It was designed by Derek Miller and will go on sale on Thursday at all Post Offices and sub-Post Offices.

ARREST FOR INDECENT ACT CRM Arrest for indecent act A 37-year-old Hamilton Parish man was arrested on Saturday afternoon after he was found committing an indecent act in the bushes.

A woman told Police that at about 2 p.m. a man was in the bushes on South Road in Warwick, committing an indecent act.

The man was arrested and will be appearing in court in due course.

VEHICLES DAMAGED AC Vehicles damaged A van, an auxiliary cycle and a motorcycle were all damaged after the driver of a Mitsubishi station wagon apparently lost control and collided into them on Saturday morning.

The driver told Police she was driving her car in the Paget Dry cleaners parking lot shortly after 9.30 a.m. when the accident occurred. The van, auxiliary cycle and motorcycle were all parked at the time. No-one was injured although all vehicles involved in the incident were damaged.

FIRE AT GUEST HOUSE FIR Fire at guest house Firefighters -- some wearing breathing gear -- dealt with a laundry room blaze at a guest house on South Road, Paget.

They were called out at about 4.15 p.m. on Sunday, leaving the scene an hour later. The fire is under investigation.

A Fire Service spokesman said: "There were no injuries, but I'm not sure of the extent of the damage.'' WATCH AND CASH STOLEN CRM Watch and cash stolen An American tourist had some money and a watch stolen from his room while he was in the shower last Friday afternoon.

The 36-year-old victim told Police that he went to the bathroom to have a shower.

At about 3 p.m. he said someone entered his room and stole a Swiss army knife and money contained in a money clip.
