Memorial Hospital spokesman said yesterday.

Robert Wakefield Coleman Thomas was transferred from intensive care to a surgical ward last week and is now in stable condition.

On Friday, his alleged attacker, 47-year-old William Gayle Samuel Gumbs was charged in Magistrates' Court with attempted murder and unlawful wounding.

He was ordered to appear in court on August 2.

The incident took place on Wednesday at 7.30 a.m. near the Spinning Wheel.
