Mr. Viera, 58, is expected to be charged with offences concerning guns following a Police search of his Paget home in November.

He was originally scheduled to appear today but his lawyer Mr. Alan Dunch said the date had been changed for "convenience''.

Mr. Viera represented Southampton West in the House of Assembly from 1968 until this year, when he did not seek re-election. He represented the United Bermuda party until a split after the 1989 vote.
