The woman was the pillion passenger on a cycle ridden by a 50-year-old male visitor who was travelling east on South Road in Smith's Parish around 10.30 a.m. last Wednesday.

A Police spokeswoman said the cycle struck a nearside sidewalk as the driver rounded the right bend. He and his passenger fell into the road.

The passenger suffered a broken collar bone, chest bone, arm, ribs and bruises, while the rider received a cracked right wrist and lacerations to his forearm.

Police were also called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident in Pembroke on Wednesday afternoon.

A white Nissan, driven by a 52-year-old man, was travelling west on Victoria Street when it collided with a bike ridden by a 24-year-old woman.

The woman was attempting to turn right into Brunswick Street. She received a fractured left wrist and leg, cuts, and abrasions.
