The charitable organisation allocates and oversees funding of programmes run by five alcohol and drug abuse agencies.

"Mrs. Ward brings a wealth of experience and talent to this position,'' Council Partners Charitable Trust chairman Brian Duperreault said.

The appointment is effective May 27.

Mrs. Ward joins the trust from the Bank of Bermuda where she was protocol and special events officer, a position she helped create in 1992.

In 1989, she joined the bank as product coordinator, private banking.

"I am truly excited about the opportunity to work with the Council Partners,'' she said.

Mrs. Ward replaces John D'Alessio.
