The 911 emergency system has been receiving calls from small children who have possibly picked up the telephone and pushed the pre-programmed 911 button.

These type of accidents cause the lines to tie up and Police are not able to get to the real emergencies.

Police said the most common misuse was when someone accidently pushed the pre-programmed button on their cellular telephone.

They have asked the public to try their best to stop these types of calls.
