It is alleged that Shakir falsely stated on a foreign currency tax form that she required funds for a trip to Atlanta between February 7 and 9 of last year.
It is also alleged that between February 3 and 5, knowing these statements to be false, she used the funds for another purpose.
Shakir, represented by Mr. Richard Hector, was released on $1,000 bail.
She was ordered to reappear in Plea Court on January 26 for mention.
