Mr. Anthony Joseph O'Neill Pitcher Jr. has filed the writ against Commissioner Mr. Lennie Edwards and Det. Con. Terence Maxwell in the Supreme Court.
Yesterday Mr. Pitcher's attorney, Mr. Ian Kawaley, said the claim related to events between May 17 and 19. "It's not very clear to me at this point what it is Mr. Pitcher is alleged to have done,'' he said.
His client was about 27, and his last address was in Pembroke, Mr. Kawaley added.
He said the writ had yet to be served, and it was unlikely that the case would come to court before the end of the year.
A Police spokesman said Mr. Edwards was aware the writ had been taken out, but could not comment on it.
