Youths face sex charges
12-year-old girl last November.
One boy will be tried next month for the assault after pleading not guilty while his co-defendant, who entered a guilty plea, will "hear the facts'' as Police claim them to have happened.
Crown Counsel Larry Mussenden sought the adjournment for the boy who pleaded guilty so that a summary of the case against the boy could be drawn up.
Juvenile Court Magistrate Carlisle Greaves spent more than ten minutes questioning the boys on the alleged crime, establishing guilt for one and getting an unequivocal plea from the other.
One boy admitted the sexual assault on November 17 and he admitted touching the girl's vagina and breasts for a sexual purpose. He told Mr. Greaves he touched the girl's breast.
The other boy denied both counts of sexual assault and touching the girl "for a sexual purpose''.
Mr. Greaves told the boy's parents and Mr. Mussenden: "Time is precious in this court. Get a lawyer. Be prepared to proceed to trial.
"Mr. Prosecutor, I've always believed that you must have enough evidence to try a man if you are going to charge him. Come ready to deal. If you're not ready I'll dismiss the case.''
