A great day's progress, especially considering the light and variable conditions this morning. The fores'l continues to need daily repair, but we've been asking a lot of it since the tear.
If we're to stay competitive we need this sail to last until Bermuda so the morning ritual of patching and herringboning looks set to continue.
Highlight of the day was Chef's breakfast of Portuguese doughnuts and hot spiced apple with the last of the Rock Island coffee.
At 1400 yesterday we were neck and neck with The Dutch naval tall ship Urania for second place on the water with Spirit only one mile nearer to Bermuda.
After a night of concerted effort, and fair breeze, we've managed to extend that gap to 72 nautical miles, as well as moving up one position to third on corrected time.
