'Additional' tickets to Music Festival offered – to tourists
The Bermuda Department of Tourism announced yesterday that more tickets to the Bermuda Music Festival would be put on sale, but only for visitors.
In May, 12,000 tickets for the event were made available, with tickets for Beyoncé and Alicia Keys selling out in a matter of minutes. By 8 a.m., only tickets reserved for visitors remained.
The four-day October event is expected to be the biggest in the Festival's history, featuring UB40, Aaron Neville, Solange Knowles, Collie Buddz, The Whispers, and Lyfe Jennings in addition to Beyoncé and Alicia Keys.
"With the magnitude of the talent performing at this years' music festival, this event will give us an incredible opportunity to highlight Bermuda's tourism product like never before," said executive producer of this years festival Rock Newman.
"By releasing additional tickets to the US Market, we are affording ourselves the chance to do just that."
It was not revealed how many tickets were put on sale yesterday, or how many tickets are still to be released, but it has been estimated that over the festivals four nights, over 20,000 tickets could be sold.
