Airport to stay closed on Monday
Government last night said the LF Wade International Airport would remain closed on Monday as the Causeway was likely to still be closed to traffic in the wake of Hurricane Igor.
Government also urged members of the public to remove their vehicles from the Airport parking lot "to avoid damage not only to their vehicles but to the terminal as vehicles can become destructive if carried away by storm surge".
Churchgoers were also asked to remain at home tomorrow as high winds are expected from mid-morning onward.
Portions of South Road, Smith's from John Smith's Bay to Watch Hill Road will be closed from 10 a.m. today due to storm surge. Residents will be allowed access and egress.
All water truckers' outlets will be closed as of 5 p.m. today.
There will be no West End garbage collection on Monday while the Tynes Bay drop-off will close at 7 p.m. today and will be closed tomorrow.
