Alleged carjacker released on $25,000 bail
A man accused of carjacking and conspiring to use a firearm was granted $25,000 bail in Magistrates' Court.
Jerome Dublin, 31, of The Glebe Road, Pembroke, has been charged with stealing a man's car using force on August 6, and conspiring with two others, who did not appear in court, to use a firearm in the robbery.
Wearing an orange prison uniform, Dublin remained silent throughout yesterday's proceedings. Dublin has not been required to enter a plea because the matters must be heard in the Supreme Court.
After hearing arguments for and against bail by Crown counsel Takiyah Burgess and Charles Richardson, Dublin's attorney, Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner granted Dublin $25,000 bail with a surety.
Bail conditions included both an 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. curfew and instructions that Dublin must avoid contact with the victim in the case.
