Bermuda Hospitals Board meets bidders

Deputy Premier Paula Cox has met with companies considering bidding to build the new King Edward VII Memorial Hospital facilities.

The meeting about the $315 million hospital redevelopment also involved Acting Health Minister Walter Roban and Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) bosses.

BHB chairman Herman Tucker said afterwards that it had been a positive session which provided a good opportunity to share information about the project.

The hospital is being rebuilt as part of a private-public partnership, with an RFP (request for proposal) due to be issued to a shortlist of potential bidders in late 2009.
