Cameras taken in house break-ins
Two digital cameras were stolen from a Berkeley Road, Pembroke, home on Monday, while cash was stolen from a Mission Lane, Paget, home.
A Police spokesperson said in both cases an unknown person entered the homes while they were unoccupied, removing the items.
He said: "At around 4.45 p.m., Police received a report of a burglary at a Paget home. It appears that sometime between 7.30 a.m. and 11.45 a.m., an unknown culprit gained access to the home and stole a quantity of cash.
"Around 6 p.m. on Monday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Pembroke home. Sometime during the day, the culprit stole two digital cameras."
Police say they are investigating both incidents.
50 road accidents
Police are urging drivers to be careful on the roads after more than 50 collisions were reported last week.
Between July 5 and July 12, there were 52 reported collisions, 27 of which resulted in injury.
A Police spokesman said: "We're continuing to advice the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island's roads.
"Those travelling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane."
In addition to the 52 collisions, nine people were arrested last week on suspicion of impaired driving. Eleven vehicles were reported stolen across the Island, but five of the vehicles have already been recovered.
