Burch speaks out
first official Chief of Staff, gives his first interview since being appointed as Premier Jennifer Smith's right hand man.
RG 's John Burchall profiles the often controversial figure, known simply as "The Colonel'' and Burch talks candidly about his job and its pressures.
"You move at short notice and return just as fast,'' he tells RG . "You live out of a suitcase moving from pillar to post and no matter how tired or jet-lagged you are you have to be `on'. It is not a picnic for the Premier either.'' What emerges is a portrait of a determined, ambitious and highly motivated man who does not suffer fools gladly and is focused unswervingly on his role within the PLP's "New Bermuda''.
April's RG also includes the magazine's annual look at the latest cars and bikes, including the return of a cult classic -- the stylish Italian-made Vespa scooter -- and a glimpse of the exciting sporty new Peugeot 206 cabriolet, due here later this year.
There's also an extensive preview of next month's Bermuda International Film Festival in the magazine's agenda section, including a handy four-page pullout guide to all the movies and parties.
April's RG is available free only with tomorrow's edition of The Royal Gazette .
