City dwellers may soon get parking dreams answered
answered by November as the Corporation of Hamilton is looking into providing special areas.
Corporation secretary Mr. Roger Sherratt said motorists coming into Hamilton have been trying to escape one-hour parking by parking on the outskirts of the city.
Since the introduction of parking vouchers it was becoming more of a problem, he said.
"The corporation has decided to look into providing residential parking and we have put a notice in the paper asking anyone who lives in Hamilton and is wishing to be considered for a residential parking permit to fill out an application form which can be obtained from the Corporation of Hamilton offices,'' Mr. Sherratt said.
"We need to find out where applicants live and what their needs are so we can assess the need for residential parking.
"The corporation is hoping to introduce the scheme when the multi-story car park opens in November,'' Mr. Sherratt added.
