College buildings are renamed after founders

Bermuda College will pay tribute to two of its founders by formally renaming two of the facility's buildings.

In a ceremony at 4 p.m. on Monday the college is renaming South Hall as Brock Hall in honour of Mansfield 'Jimmy' Brock, while New Hall will be renamed Hallett Hall in Honour of Dr. Archie Hollis Hallett as part of the college's 35th anniversary.

Mr. Brock was the college's first CEO, holding the position between 1974 and 1977, bringing together the Technical Institute, the Bermuda Hotel and Catering College and the Academic Sixth Form Centre to form the college.

Dr. Hallett was the college's first President, holding the position between 1977 and 1982, during which time the Stonington Campus began to be constructed.
