Dame awards future leaders
St. George's finest young leaders have been presented with the Dame Jennifer Smith award by the politician herself and teacher Garita Coddington.
The awards were presented to the boys and girls called the best future leaders by the teaching staff of East End Primary, St. George's Prep, St. David's Prep and Clearwater schools.
This was the second year the Dame Jennifer Smith awards were awarded to St. George's students. The winners, two for each school, were praised for their willingness to help others and for showing great initiative.
Sinae Smith and Kyle DeRoza accepted the awards for East End Primary, Dominique Burgess and Cameron Neal for St. George's Prep, Satori Anderson and MacQuille Walker for St. David's Prep and Rokeyah Brown and Kameron E. Creighton for Clearwater.
"The students recommended for the Dame Jennifer Smith Future Leaders Awards fill me with pride in their multi-faceted personalities and accomplishments," said Dame Jennifer.
"One is a youth preacher, one takes care of his younger brother and sister, one is a good athlete who exhibits all the best sportsmanship qualities, and all of them are leaders and well-rounded role models for their peers."
Along with a trophy, all the winning students also received a T-shirt and a few books. Each of the schools involved were also given a book for their libraries.
