— It was formally established in 1998;

— It is committed to extending access to the benefits of high quality education around the globe;

— It currently operates in 157 countries in Europe, South Asia, the Middle East, North America, South America and Africa;

— It is the world's largest provider of international qualifications for 14- to 19-year-olds and is a part of the University of Cambridge;

— Qualifications offered include Cambridge IGCSE, A-levels, O-levels and Cambridge Pre-U, post-16 qualification;

— It works with governments around the world to reform education systems, train officials, teachers and exam markers;

— It offers several forms of training programmes for teachers including online, professional development and face-to-face;

— It employs 200 staff in the UK and works with 7,000 examiners.
