A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital after he was assaulted and robbed in a Hamilton bar at the weekend.

Police attended the Captain's Lounge on Reid Street just after midnight on Saturday after reports of a disturbance.

The victim, from Devonshire, suffered a laceration to his left eyebrow in the attack, during which his wallet was stolen. A scuffle then broke out involving several of his suspected attackers.

Officers searched the area and arrested a 22-year-old Pembroke man, an 18-year-old St. George's man, an 18-year-old Devonshire man and a 16-year-old male from Pembroke.
