Free bus shuttle to and from Bull's Head car park

Starting today, the Corporation of Hamilton will be offering a free shuttle service between the City Hall Car Park and the Bull's Head Car Park.

The shuttle bus, announced yesterday, will travel between the two parking lots every 15 minutes between 4.30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to allow the public to get back to their vehicles safely after dark.

Hamilton Mayor Charles Gosling said that the service is a response to complaints from people fearing for their safety.

"We know a number of people, particularly women, have expressed concern and are nervous about going to their vehicle in the evening, especially as it is starting to get dark earlier," he said.

"We urge people who may be working late to use this service to move their car from Bull's Head after 6 p.m. and park on the street. This will allow them to park closer to their office when parking is free."

The service is scheduled to continue until the start of Daylight Savings Time next March.

Meanwhile, anyone who would like assistance getting to their car after 7 p.m. are asked to call Safeguard Security at 292-2626 so that a guard can be sent to meet them at the entrance of the parking lot and escort them to their vehicle.
