A holidaymaker has disappeared, leaving his personal belongings on a South Shore beach.

Police are appealing to the public to help locate 30-year-old Mehdi David Yahi.

A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said there have been no 'confirmed' sightings of the Frenchman since his arrival on the Island more than a week ago.

The spokesman said yesterday: "He apparently arrived in Bermuda on Sunday, January 25, via British Airways and was reported missing at 9.10 a.m. this morning after some of his personal effects were found on the beach at Chaplin Bay in Warwick.

"A subsequent search of the coastline in that area by Marine Police and land-based Police units failed to locate Mr. Yahi. However, it appears that there have been no official (confirmed) sightings of Mr. Yahi since his arrival on the island."

The spokesman could not disclose as to whether Mr. Yahi was travelling solo or with others. He is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, of slim build and is clean-shaven with black hair.

"Anyone reported missing to the Bermuda Police Service is of concern to us and we will do all we can to trace them," said the spokesman.

If you have any information or sightings of Mr. Yahi, please call Police on 295 0011.
